Our Third Bloggaversary, an Update and a GIVEAWAY!

Happy New Year, and Happy Bloggaversary to us!

We started this blog on New Year's Day 2008 with this post. Three years later, A Couple in the Kitchen is better than ever. We've updated the blog to allow for categorizing our recipes, as you can see. Next on our "to-do" list is making the recipes printable (we're getting there...)

We'd love for you to help us celebrate our bloggaversary and update with a GIVEAWAY!!!

Our blog was inspired by a book, and since it's our third year blogging, we're giving away a trio of books. All three are cookbooks by bloggers, and all three focus on the perfect cooking style for long, cold winter days - slow cooking.

The books:

Fave meal in a slow-cooker would have to be a pumpkin pie pudding! It's insanely delicious!

And I've just subscribed to your blog!

Happy Anniversary! Happy New Year!

I make a pulled pork in the slow cooker and I am not sure I ever want to go back to a grilled, smoked or otherwise prepared pulled pork sandwich because of it! Congrats on your 3rd anniversary!

Hi Foodie Couple!! Happy Bloggoversary! My favorite slow cooker meal is a Portuguese Pot Roast. It cooks all day while I'm at work and it drives everyone at home cray! I brown the roast in a saute pan, then in the slow cooker I put olive oil, garlic, apple cider vinegar, bay leaf, wet crushed red pepper, stewed tomatoes, can of beer, salt, black pepper and small amount of chopped onion, then add the roast and cover . It is the most tender, the most fragrant roast you have ever had! Definitely my slow cooker favorite!

I have to confess that I don't really use recipes when it comes to using my slow cooker. I look at the recipes for basic guidelines about how long the main ingredient needs to cook and then just do as I like, trying new spices or combinations as I think might work.
